Houses

All the children in our school are divided into four houses, named after four planets in our solar system - Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn and Neptune

We use the House system to reinforce positive behaviour and to foster a spirit of support and encouragement throughout the school. It also allows us to hold inter house competitions, such as lunchtime sporting tournaments, quiz's and sports days.

House Points are awarded for good behaviour, quality work, good deeds and anything else that we consider appropriate. The children are given a small coloured bead which they add to their House jar, as shown in the picture above.

As the term progresses, the jars fill up and, at the end of each term, the points are totalled and the winning house is declared. The winning house becomes the holder of the 'House Cup' which is adorned with appropriately coloured ribbons. Every child in the winning House then receives a treat for their hard work.
